Foodies won’t be disappointed with the diversity and quality of cuisine available in Simpsonville. When it comes to culinary pleasures, this small town has it going on.

Chef Jason Scholz of Stella's Southern Bistro specializes in farm-to-table fare.

Among the most notable dining spots is Stella’s Southern Bistro where Chef Jason Scholz has perfected the farm-to-table concept using locally sourced produce and products and seafood from the South Carolina coast. Formerly executive chef of High Cotton in Greenville, Scholz has been featured in The New York Times, Bon Appétit and Southern Living, as well as on the Food Network.

Unterhausen The Castle Cellar Pub is the newest star in Simpsonville’s food scene. Named after Unterhausen, Germany, this uber-cool bar and restaurant showcases the Bavarian culture, its traditional dishes and beer and wine. Bring on the bratwurst, German potato salad and kraut. The pub’s setting is equally appealing with brick walls, a wooden beam ceiling and a knight in shining armor greeting you at the entrance.

Maple Street Biscuit Company is known for its variety of biscuit sandwiches.

Equally appealing is Maple Street Biscuit Company, specializing in—you guessed it—homemade, fresh-from-the-oven biscuits. Here, the crumbly, buttery breakfast staple has been elevated to entree status. Biscuit sandwiches feature a fried chicken breast topped with an assortment of delicious enhancers, including pecan wood-smoked bacon, house-made apple butter, collard greens and a signature “sausage gravy with a kick.”

Another not-to-miss eatery is the Tamarindo Latin Cuisine, offering a distincive selection of authetic Latin Cuisine that will make you feel like you're dining in the Caribbean. Whether you eat indoors or on the patio, you'll enjoy the casually chic ambiance and amazing food, from shrimp ceviche to the classic Media Noche sandwich to Chicharron de Pollo.

For more fabulous international cuisine, be sure to add Authentique French Creperie to your culinary itinerary. In the tradition of Brittany, the birthplace of crepes in France, the savory galettes are made with buckwheat flour. The menu also includes “Americanized” sweet crepes with a wide assortment of fillings from a house-made chocolate sauce to strawberries, raspberries and blueberries topped with salted caramel butter. Sitting at a bistro table with French music playing in the background, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to the French coast.

Enjoy fresh-baked croissants, scones, cookies and muffins with your coffee at Exchange Company Coffee Bar & Bake Shop.
Other fun dining spots include The Lunchbox, serving salads, sandwiches and a made-from-scratch quiche; Henry’s Smokehouse, known for its distinctive hickory-flavored, fall-off-the-bone barbecue; and Shortfields, serving comforting American favorites and Lowcounty staples.

If it’s coffee you crave, try Exchange Co., a coffee bar and bake shop offering fresh-baked muffins, cakes, cookies, croissants and scones; and Java Bistro, serving a full selection of coffee, tea and smoothies and breakfast and lunch all day.
