There is so much for families to do in the Grand Strand that it almost boggles the mind. The beach itself is so beautiful and the ocean so warm that you could spend every day of your Myrtle Beach vacation swimming, boogie boarding, sun bathing and sand-castle building without getting bored.
But of course, then you would miss out on all the amazing things there are to do in Myrtle Beach. Here are our choices for seven crazy fun adventures for crazy fun families on the Grand Strand.
Cable Wakeboarding at Shark Wake Park
If zooming through the water, leaping up through the air, and sliding across obstacles at high speeds in the water while strapped to a wooden board and pulled by a cable sounds like vacation to you, then Myrtle Beach is your vacation spot. At Shark Wake Park, you and your family have the chance to learn how to wakeboard in a safe and enclosed environment on an innovative cable wakeboarding system. And if wakeboarding is just a little too much (and it is quite an adrenaline rush!) you can also check out their inflatable, floating aqua park.
Beach Rider Jet Boat at Broadway at the Beach
Looking for some of the most ridiculous fun you can have in a boat? Then go on a Beach Rider Jet Boat ride at Broadway at the Beach. You'll zoom across the water at high speed and spin out into 360-degree turns. It's the boating equivalent of doing doughnuts in a parking lot when you were a teenager. Sound fun? Yes, it is.
Breakout Myrtle Beach
You can't spend all of your time out on the beach, can you? If you're looking for fun time somewhere inside, then you will love Breakout Myrtle Beach! With multiple breakout rooms with different themes, you'll have 60 minutes to figure out the clues and escape...
Parasailing
If flying through the water in a jet boat or on a wakeboard just isn't enough, how about flying through the air a hundred feet above the ocean, pulled by a speed boat and suspended in the wind by a sheet of nylon fabric? If your first thought isn't that this sounds insane, then parasailing is your next adventure. Several companies (Express Water Sports, Atlantic Water Sports) in the Myrtle Beach area will take you and your family out to the middle of the deep blue sea and up, up, up above it all parasailing.
Water Rollerz at Broadway at the Beach
Floating hamster balls is the best way I know to describe the ridiculous fun of Water Rollers. A hollow, clear plastic, inflated cylinder floats on the water. You get to climb inside and start running, jumping, and flopping around. It is just as silly and fun as it sounds. You'll find Water Rollerz at the lake at Broadway at the Beach.
Breakfast at Johnny D's Waffles and Bakery
Hungry after all this excitement? Even crazy adventuring families do need to eat at some point. Can eating breakfast be a crazy adventure? It can be when you're eating at Johnny D's. Honestly, you've never seen (or tasted) crazy breakfast like this. From Churro French toast, to Chunky Monkey Cakes, to Red Velvet and Coconut Banana French toast Waffles. Looking for something savory? How about Chipotle Bacon Benedict or Jambalaya Omelette? And everything is at delicious as it sounds, I promise. It will fuel you up for the whole day.
