Sometimes, you just want a tiny vacation from work, even if it lasts for only an hour. Sometimes, you just want to play a little hooky.

And for this, the State Fair has you covered.

You can get into the State Fair for free in the middle of the day on weekdays, eat a pork chop on a stick (or corn dog or bacon doughnut burger or fried Milky Way) for lunch, go on a few rides, watch a few ducks slide down a waterslide, and then return to work, and no one needs to know. But you'll return with a big smile on your face.

Between noon and 2 p.m., you can purchase a special State Fair lunch ticket for $5. If you leave before 2, you can turn the ticket back in at the exit gate and get your money back. There is such a thing as a free lunch ticket, though food and rides are extra.

Not sure what to get? Check out our list of favorites. It will help you maximize your time so you can squeeze in one last bit of fun.

So just do it. It's so worth the ache in your belly. Just remember to wipe off the powdered sugar from that funnel cake before you head back to the office!
