Gaffney's historic downtown is lined with boutiques and shops.

Most travelers have a preference for where they like to shop when they’re on vacation. Some enjoy small, local stores offering unique goods and fashions. Others prefer malls with a wide selection of national brand retailers.

In Gaffney, you’ll find both.

The historic downtown district is lined with boutiques and shops filled with hard-to-find items, distinctive fashions and locally made crafts. Out-of-town guests who visit these stores are greeted by staff in the warm and welcoming tradition of the South.

The historic downtown district offers a number of unique shops, including Hartzog’s, a Gaffney institution since 1946.

Hartzog’s is a Gaffney original, dating back to 1946. What started as a family-owned shop in 300 square feet of space has grown into a 5,000-square-foot showroom for fine gifts and jewelry. The store is now run by the second generation of Hartzogs and includes everything from bridal and baby gifts to decorative items for the home.

North Limestone Street, the main corridor through town, is also home to a number of antique stores and malls, among them  Pieces from the Past and Wilkins*Star Vendors.

Bargain hunters will enjoy browsing through the many consignment, variety and thrift stores in Gaffney, including Deja Vu Consignments Furniture Resale, Things & Stuff Discount House and Mix & Match Home Decor & More.

Gaffney offers an array of shopping options from a farmers market to an outlet mall.

Another fun spot to shop local is the Gaffney Station Farmers Market, open April through November from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturdays with additional Tuesday and Thursday hours in the summer. Located in the parking lot of the Gaffney Visitors Center & Art Gallery, this popular retail extravaganza features fresh fruits and vegetables from the area, flowers, honey, potted plants, handmade artisan craft items and much more.

Serious shoppers will also want to hit Gaffney Outlet Marketplace, boasting 75 stores in a modern outdoor plaza. The selection of retailers includes Pottery Barn, Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store, Michael Kors Outlet, Kate Spade New York, H&M, Under Armour, Carter's and Adidas.

With so many options, you’ll want to set aside an entire day for your vacation shopping. And when you need to refuel, restaurants and cafes are only steps away.
